Bata Pakistan Limited has reported a 34% narrowing of its net loss in the half year to June 30, 2026, with the loss falling to Rs191.15m from Rs288.36m a year earlier, according to Mettis Global. Loss per share on a basic and diluted basis came in at Rs25.28, compared with Rs38.14 in the same period last year. The figures were published on August 24, 2026.
Top-line revenue from customer contracts rose 8% to Rs9.77bn from Rs9.06bn, while cost of sales was nearly unchanged at Rs5.09bn. Gross profit consequently climbed 18% to Rs4.68bn from Rs3.95bn, although distribution costs grew 19% and administrative expenses 14%. A 91% drop in impairment charges on financial assets and other income that more than doubled to Rs86.57m helped ease some of that pressure.
The income tax line moved against the company, with a charge of Rs108.44m compared with a credit of Rs29.93m a year earlier, which limited the overall improvement. Before tax, the loss narrowed 74% to Rs82.71m, aided by a 60% decline in the levy on minimum tax to Rs45.15m.
