WAFI 1HCY26 profit rises 19%

Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (PSX: WAFI) reported a 19% rise in net profit for the six months ended June 30, 2026, according to Mettis Global. Net profit reached Rs1.52bn, up from Rs1.28bn a year earlier, and earnings per share climbed to Rs7.12 from Rs5.97.

Revenue growth was the main driver, as net sales jumped 37% to Rs303.04bn. Gross profit widened 28% to Rs17.78bn even though cost of products sold rose by a similar 37% to Rs285.26bn, as higher sales volumes supported the margin.

Operating costs climbed as well, with other expenses up 203% to Rs3.72bn, which pulled operating profit 5% lower to Rs3.63bn. Lower finance costs and a Rs965.82m share of associate profit helped cushion the impact. A Rs870.34m deferred tax credit reduced the income tax charge to Rs1.94bn, down 8% from the prior year.
