BFAGRO FY26 profit softens 16%
METTIS GLOBAL • • 1 min read

Barkat Frisian Agro Limited reported a 16% fall in consolidated net profit for the year to June 30, 2026, to Rs624.39m from Rs741.69m a year earlier, according to Mettis Global. Earnings per share dropped to Rs2.01 from Rs3.68 over the same period. The publisher said the decline came despite revenue growth, as higher operating costs, lower exchange gains and a deferred tax charge weighed on the bottom line.
Net sales rose 6% to Rs7.69bn from Rs7.25bn, and cost of sales reached Rs6.65bn, lifting gross profit to Rs1.04bn. Operating expenses climbed 25% to Rs383.25m, with administrative costs up 67% and selling and distribution costs up 19%. Exchange gains shrank 82% to Rs15.91m, pulling operating profit down 7% to Rs759.64m, although other income rose 58% to Rs89.99m.
Finance costs fell 23% to Rs60.76m, leaving profit before tax at Rs698.86m, down 5% year on year. The final figure was shaped by taxation, with a deferred tax charge of Rs74.46m replacing a net tax credit of Rs3.02m in the previous year. These items offset the gains from higher gross profit, according to the report.
