KPRA collects Rs12.66bn in STS during Q1 FY2027
BUSINESS RECORDER • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) gathered Rs12.66 billion in services sales tax during the opening quarter of fiscal 2026-27. That amount was 24 per cent higher than the Rs10.2 billion recorded in the same period a year earlier. Including Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC), the authority's total receipts for the quarter came to Rs13.123 billion.
September alone produced Rs4.65 billion under the services levy, a 35 per cent rise on the same month last year. IDC collections were lower at Rs457 million, a decline the authority mainly linked to the shutdown of Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossings. That closure hurt cross-border trade, and the reduced trade in turn weighed on cess receipts.
Director General Irum Naz praised KPRA officers and staff for driving strong growth in core tax collection. She also thanked Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and Advisor on Finance Muzzammil Aslam for guidance that she said helped strengthen institutional performance. Taxpayers were thanked for their trust, with voluntary compliance described as the basis of the authority's revenue performance.
