Business Recorder reported that the federal government has raised petrol prices by Rs2.10 per litre to Rs392.76, while high-speed diesel (HSD) rose by Rs0.30 to Rs399.64 per litre. The new ex-depot rates apply from October 3 to 5, 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the figures on Friday under the petroleum pricing mechanism, as announced by the Petroleum Division.
Petrol had gone up by Rs3.26 to Rs390.66 a day earlier, while diesel was reduced by Rs1.01 to Rs399.34. The Petroleum Division linked the latest adjustment to global movements, citing shifts in Platts quotations, premiums and incidentals.
Global crude prices fell on Friday after reports of European talks about releasing extra diesel and crude stocks eased worries over tight energy supply. Brent dropped to $99.25 a barrel at 1409 GMT, down $3.06 or 3%, while West Texas Intermediate fell $3.95 to $88.92. European gasoil futures, a benchmark for diesel prices, slid about 4.3% to $1,386.75 a metric ton. Both contracts were on track for weekly declines, with Brent about 4.7% lower and WTI around 3.7% down so far this week.
