HSD Price cut by Rs1.88, petrol up Rs0.88 from Oct 6

According to Mettis Global, the Ministry of Energy's Petroleum Division has revised ex-depot prices, cutting High-Speed Diesel by Rs1.88 per litre while lifting petrol by Rs0.88 per litre. The new rates take effect from October 6, 2026. The revision follows the pricing mechanism set by the federal government, with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority implementing the changes.
Diesel now stands at Rs397.76 per litre, down from Rs399.64 recorded on October 3, 2026. Petrol has moved to Rs393.64, compared with Rs392.76 previously. The authority linked the adjustment to global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
The notice was dated October 5, 2026, one day before the revised rates apply. Because ex-depot prices are the level at which petroleum products leave depots, the revisions directly alter the rates at which these products are priced.
