PSX rallies 2,593 points on easing political concerns
THE EXPRESS TRIBUNE • • 1 min read

The Express Tribune reported that the benchmark KSE-100 index closed 1.56% higher on Tuesday, adding 2,592.79 points to finish at 168,460.11. The rebound came as broad buying picked up on hopes that domestic political tensions would ease. The index moved between 165,651.68 and 168,626.18 during the session, climbing from its early levels as buying emerged across key sectors.
Sentiment also firmed after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked PTI to drop its agitation politics and call off its long march, arguing that protests would hurt growth and the country's international reputation. His call for talks was tied to the protest ending, which gave investors some relief over renewed political uncertainty. Crude prices also eased, with Brent slipping below $100 to about $98 as Red Sea conditions improved and a G7 stockpile release eased supply worries.
The Express Tribune also noted trading volume eased to 432 million shares from 441.8 million on Monday, with traded value at Rs20.1 billion. Of the 496 companies traded in the ready market, 314 closed higher, 147 fell and 35 ended unchanged. Cnergyico PK led activity with 55.1 million shares, rising Rs0.72 before ending at Rs12.93.
