Business Recorder reported that National Bank of Pakistan shareholders endorsed the terms of chief executive Imran Sarwar’s employment, covering 2026 to 2029. The arrangement takes effect from September 9, 2026, the date he assumed office, and the bank said the package will not change during the contract. It provides a monthly gross salary of Rs9.5 million and a housing allowance of Rs1 million, alongside a performance-related annual bonus.
The benefits also include two vehicles, medical cover for Sarwar and his family, and life insurance worth Rs30 million. The bank will provide residential security, household support and a generator facility capped at Rs1.5 million, while the terms include gratuity and paid leave. Sarwar was named NBP president and CEO for a three-year period; the filing says early termination by the employer would trigger payment for the unexpired contract period. He previously held senior positions at UBL and Standard Chartered.
