Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Audi plans to invest $4 billion in an assembly facility near Macon, Georgia, with capacity for 200,000 SUVs a year, President Donald Trump announced at a rally on Saturday. The company expects the project to generate about 4,500 jobs, with building work due to start next year and manufacturing planned for the early 2030s.
Audi said it intends to make its Q7, Q8 and Q9 models at the site. A US official also said Audi plans annual output of 25,000 vehicles in South Carolina, at a $2 billion Scout Motors facility being built by Volkswagen. The announcement comes as Audi faces US tariffs and weaker sales: its first-half 2026 sales fell 7%, while sales in the United States are down 16% this year.
