Soneri Bank profit shrinks to Rs3bn in 9M

Soneri Bank Limited (PSX: SNBL) posted profit after tax of Rs2.94 billion for the nine months to September 30, 2026, down 10.97% from Rs3.30 billion a year earlier, Mettis Global reported. Earnings per share also declined 10.97%, to Rs2.67 from Rs3.00.

Net interest income contracted 16.46% to Rs17.53 billion, while total income fell 8.64% to Rs25.13 billion. Non-markup expenses climbed 15.67% to Rs20.62 billion, led by higher operating expenses. A Rs1.51 billion net reversal in credit-loss allowances, compared with a charge in the prior-year period, and a 51.03% reduction in tax helped limit the fall in after-tax profit.

Profit before tax decreased 37.25% to Rs6.03 billion. Non-markup income rose 16.53% to Rs7.60 billion, including higher foreign-exchange, fee and commission, and securities income, but did not offset the drop in net interest income and increased expenses.
