Pakistan’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) declined by 1.7 points in October 2026 to 34.9, from 36.6 in September, according to the latest survey data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), reported by Mettis Global. The survey also recorded a rise in consumers’ inflation expectations, with that measure reaching 73.2 points from 71.7 a month earlier. Both assessments of the economy, covering present conditions and the outlook, weakened during the month.
The Current Economic Conditions Index (CEC) dropped to 34.3 points from 36 in September, while the Expected Economic Conditions Index (EEC) eased to 35.6 from 37.2. Taken together, the figures show lower confidence alongside higher inflation expectations in October, rather than improvement in either consumers’ current or future economic assessments. For investors, the survey offers an indicator of household sentiment and perceived economic conditions, relevant context when assessing demand-facing businesses and the wider economy.
At a glance
- The CCI fell to 34.9 points in October from 36.6 in September.
