FBR orders textile spinning mills to install surveillance cameras by November 15
Profit by Pakistan Today • • 1 min read

The Federal Board of Revenue has set November 15, 2026, as the deadline for registered textile spinning units to equip machinery handling loose, opened or blended fibres with video surveillance. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that the directive, issued on October 23 as Sales Tax General Order No. 30 of 2026, extends electronic production monitoring beyond cotton bales to fibres including polyester, viscose, wool and acrylic.
Cameras are required at points such as fibre feeders, blending equipment, blow room lines and waste-recycling areas. FBR-approved monitoring vendors must connect analytics software to the cameras so systems can count fibre entering production, record activity in real time and send information to the board’s Central Control Unit. The new rules add to the monitoring framework introduced in November 2025, while the earlier order remains in effect.
At a glance
- Spinning units must install surveillance equipment by November 15, 2026.
- The directive extends monitoring to loose and non-bale fibre processing.
