Porsche profit rebounds in nine-month period after restructuring costs
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Porsche reported operating profit of €1.74 billion for the first nine months of 2026, compared with €40 million in the same period a year earlier, Business Recorder reported. The earlier period was weighed down by €2.7 billion in costs, largely tied to the company’s abandoned electrification strategy.
The improvement is an early measure of CEO Michael Leiters’ turnaround effort, which includes reducing the business’s scale and pulling back from China. Porsche’s operating return on sales rose to 6.9% for the nine-month period, from a record-low 1.1% in 2025, and fell within the company’s full-year target range of 5.5% to 7.5%. Finance chief Jochen Breckner confirmed the 2026 guidance, while the company is pursuing more customisation and exclusive, higher-margin models to restore profitability.
