Hyundai Motor reports 5.5% rise in Q3 operating profit, beats forecasts
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Hyundai Motor’s operating profit rose 5.5% year on year to 2.7 trillion won in the July-September quarter, Business Recorder reported. The result exceeded the 2.4 trillion won forecast, with favourable exchange rates helping counter partial strikes and softer sales of older models.
The automaker reduced its 2026 operating-margin target to 5.5%-6.5% from 6.3%-7.3%, and lowered its vehicle sales goal to 4 million from 4.16 million. It also cut planned capital spending to 16 trillion won from 17.8 trillion won, while quarterly revenue declined 3.4% to 45.1 trillion won. The company cited no specific reason for those target reductions in the report; analysts pointed to competition from Chinese electric-vehicle makers and a limited range of affordable EVs.
