FBR partners with LUMS to upskill FBR officers

The Federal Board of Revenue has signed a contract with the Lahore University of Management Sciences to deliver customised professional certificates for its officers, according to Business Recorder.

The signing took place in Islamabad with senior FBR figures, including the chairman and the directors general of the Inland Revenue and Customs academies, along with LUMS deans attending. Officers from Inland Revenue and Pakistan Customs will complete three-week intensive courses covering areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, revenue forecasting and customs valuation.

All BS-17 and BS-18 officers must complete two mandatory certifications, each combining in-person teaching, hands-on labs and proctored examinations. The initiative extends the earlier nine-month Post Graduate Diploma that LUMS ran for newly inducted FBR officers as part of the authority's transformation plan.
