Customs integrates with HK Customs’ ValidAP platform

Pakistan Customs has become the first customs administration to complete integration with ValidAP, a blockchain-based cross-validation platform run by Hong Kong Customs, Business Recorder reported. The link went live through Pakistan Single Window (PSW), under a memorandum of understanding that Pakistan Customs and the Customs and Excise Department of Hong Kong signed on May 18, 2026.

ValidAP lets participating authorities confirm that electronic trade documents issued through PSW, such as Sanitary and Phytosanitary certificates and export permits, are authentic and unaltered. The check runs without sharing the documents or their data, because cryptographic hashes reveal any change to a registered file. The arrangement is meant to guard against tampering and forgery, cut reliance on paper and manual checks, and speed up clearance, with no added cost for traders.

Pakistan Customs linked the step to the World Customs Organization's Smart Customs initiative for the Asia/Pacific region and credited PSW with the technical work behind it. It presented the integration as part of a wider push toward safer, verifiable digital trade across borders.
