DeepSeek partners with Huawei to develop chip programming tools, reducing reliance on Nvidia
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that Chinese AI firm DeepSeek has teamed up with Huawei Technologies on coding tools for Huawei's Ascend processors. The company made the announcement on Wednesday via its official WeChat account. The move is another example of Chinese technology companies strengthening relationships as they search for options beyond the Nvidia ecosystem.
DeepSeek said it is making infrastructure for the Ascend platform open source, including TileLang, a high-level programming language, together with associated compute and communication libraries. The firm argued that a new generation of self-controlled GPU software needs a language that is broadly usable, simple to program, and still able to reach the hardware's full performance. It presented TileLang as the answer to that requirement.
According to the company, TileLang gives developers a more straightforward coding approach than Nvidia's CUDA, which DeepSeek said speeds up development and makes code logic easier to follow. These remain the company's own claims.
