Petrol price reduced by 14 paise, HSD’s by Rs1.89
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that the ex-depot price of petrol fell 14 paise to Rs387.40 per litre, down from Rs387.54, while high speed diesel (HSD) came down by Rs1.89, reaching Rs400.35 per litre against Rs402.24 before. The revised rates apply from October 1, and the regulator OGRA attributed the adjustment to global developments, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and incidental costs.
A Petroleum Division notification indicated that levies and profit margins were broadly unchanged for both fuels. Petrol's import cost came down from Rs276.78 to Rs276.64 per litre, while HSD's fell from Rs296.24 to Rs293.36 per litre. Petroleum Levy stays at Rs80 per litre on both fuels, with a Climate Support Levy of Rs5 per litre.
Dealers' margin is Rs9.98 per litre and oil marketing companies' margin is Rs7.87 per litre, while the Inland Freight Equalisation Margin (IFEM) is set at Rs7.91 on petrol and Rs4.19 on HSD. The reduction therefore sits entirely within the import cost component, with no change to government levies or fixed margins.
