Govt, private sector could transform Sindh into industrial hub: CM
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, speaking at a yearly dinner held by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), said government and private players could jointly turn the province into an industrial and economic hub. A meeting with KATI industrialists will be convened soon to take up infrastructure, transport, energy, and law and order concerns.
Acting on a request from the trade body, he said an emergency snorkel will be supplied for handling crises in the industrial area. He also said the province has cleared Rs9.282 billion for upgrading infrastructure across Karachi's industrial zones. On the Yellow Line project, he assured industrialists that their concerns would be addressed, stressing that factories cannot shut even for two hours while the project is executed.
Murad Ali Shah credited a task force with positive results and said law and order had improved over recent months, adding that dacoits in riverine areas had surrendered. KATI acting chief Zubair Chhaya, meanwhile, voiced serious reservations about the Yellow Line project, arguing the current mechanism could affect industrial activity and production capacity. The association also thanked the provincial government for a special grant of Rs25 million.
