Govt hikes petrol by Rs3.26, cuts diesel price by Rs1.01 per litre

Fuel prices shift from October 2, 2026, with petrol rising by Rs3.26 to Rs390.66 per litre. Business Recorder reported that OGRA set the new ex-depot figures under the country's fuel pricing framework, while high-speed diesel (HSD) drops by Rs1.01 to Rs399.34 per litre.
Before the revision, petrol stood at Rs387.40 per litre and diesel at Rs400.35. The Petroleum Division attributed the change to global developments, including shifts in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. A day earlier, the government had lowered petrol by Rs0.14 and diesel by Rs1.89.
Brent crude gained about 2% on Thursday after China halted exports of oil products, a move that may add pressure to global fuel supplies that are already tight. The December contract traded at $99.77 a barrel at 1312 GMT, up $1.7 or 1.8% from Wednesday's close, while the November contract had expired at $103.50. West Texas Intermediate rose 37 cents to $90.79 a barrel.
