Pakistan petroleum sales fall 2% YoY in September

Pakistan's petroleum product sales slipped 2 per cent year on year to 1.35 million tons in September 2026, with lower diesel and petrol volumes behind the drop. Business Recorder reported the figures from a Topline Securities report released on Friday. Excluding furnace oil, oil marketing companies sold 8 per cent less, at 1.25 million tons.

Furnace oil sales jumped 601 per cent to 93,000 tons from 13,000 tons a year earlier, while high-speed diesel volumes dropped 11 per cent to 525,000 tons and motor spirit fell 5 per cent to 652,000 tons. Month on month, total sales rose 7 per cent, helped by a 25 per cent jump in diesel that Topline attributed to seasonal factors. For the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, total OMC sales grew 6 per cent to 4.12 million tons.

Among major marketing companies, Pakistan State Oil lifted September sales 12 per cent to 639,000 tons, while Attock Petroleum held steady at 116,000 tons and Wafi Energy Pakistan fell 6 per cent to 110,000 tons. PSO's first-quarter sales climbed 18 per cent to 1.91 million tons, and APL's volumes rose 11 per cent to 364,000 tons over the same period. Wafi's first-quarter sales grew 6 per cent to 348,000 tons, according to the report.
