Pakistan’s domestic cement sales rise 8% to 10.845 million tonnes in 1QFY27
Profit by Pakistan Today • • 1 min read

Profit reported that domestic cement offtake climbed 8 per cent to 10.845 million tonnes over July to September, the opening quarter of FY27. That compares with 10.062 million tonnes a year earlier, a rise the report read as stronger local construction activity. Total despatches, which add exports to home sales, grew 4 per cent to 13.141 million tonnes.
Exports, however, slid 11.31 per cent to 2.296 million tonnes from 2.589 million tonnes a year before. In September alone, local despatches reached 3.788 million tonnes, up 7.35 per cent, while shipments abroad were broadly flat at 832,173 tonnes. Combined September despatches rose 6 per cent to 4.621 million tonnes.
An APCMA spokesperson voiced concern about the export decline and ongoing swings in energy prices, while hoping that easing geopolitical tensions would help cement and allied industries. Topline Securities estimated utilisation at 51 per cent in September, up from 47 per cent in August. Retail bag prices averaged Rs1,550 in September, a 10 per cent annual increase from Rs1,408 a year before, largely reflecting higher fuel and transport costs.
