Mettis Global reported that Pakistan and Poland have agreed to deepen their work on security, intelligence exchange, counter-terrorism, irregular migration and coordination between police and enforcement agencies. The understanding followed talks in Islamabad between Tomasz Siemoniak, who heads Poland's Council of Ministers, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, according to an official statement.
Both sides plan to conclude a number of MoUs quickly, including one covering mutual legal assistance. A delegation from the Interior Ministry, headed by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, will travel to Poland in the near future to deepen ties.
Naqvi said Pakistan applies a zero-tolerance approach to narcotics, irregular migration and organised crime, and he credited government measures with a 64% decline in illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe. The two countries also agreed to expand jobs and lawful migration routes for Pakistanis in Europe. Siemoniak said both nations hold a shared position on terrorism and security, and that Poland fully supports Pakistan's efforts toward peace and stability across the region.
