Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan urged Qatari investors to consider opportunities in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones, with particular attention to Karachi’s industrial area. He made the appeal during meetings in Doha on October 25 and 26, held alongside the World Investment Forum 2026, where trade, investment and regional links featured in discussions with Qatari officials and business representatives.
At the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Kamal promoted partnerships between businesses in both countries, including export-focused manufacturing and industrial cooperation. Discussions also covered agriculture and food supply chains with Qatar’s municipality minister, while Retaj Group showed interest in possible hospitality ventures in Pakistan. In talks with the D-8 Organization, the minister addressed trade integration and the group’s goal of $500 billion in trade among members by 2030, following Egypt’s ratification of the preferential trade agreement.
