FCL 1QFY27 profit drops 21%
Mettis Global • • 1 min read

Fast Cables Limited (FCL) reported net profit of Rs305.18 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, down 21.3% from Rs387.64 million a year earlier, according to Mettis Global. Basic and diluted earnings per share fell 21.7% to Rs0.47 from Rs0.60. Revenue increased 4.3% to Rs9.01 billion, while gross profit rose 2.4% to Rs1.52 billion.
Higher operating costs and financing charges weighed on the result. Distribution expenses climbed 48.7% to Rs469.09 million, contributing to a 31.5% rise in operating overheads and an 11.4% decline in operating profit to Rs891.20 million. Finance costs advanced 15.1% to Rs425.23 million, while the tax bill fell 29.1% to Rs190.06 million; profit before tax consequently dropped 24.5% to Rs495.24 million. The figures show that revenue growth and a lower tax charge did not offset increased expenses during the quarter.
