Pakistan and China have agreed to introduce a Green Channel for agricultural goods crossing at Sost-Khunjerab, with the aim of making customs handling faster. Profit by Pakistan Today reported that the arrangement was signed at an online ceremony at the Federal Board of Revenue headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday. It covers an agreed range of farm products traded between the two countries.
Eligible shipments will receive priority customs processing and checks, while authorities retain risk-based controls. The arrangement also calls for customs officials to share information and risk alerts, and gives perishable cargo priority to reduce border delays. Officials from both countries, including customs representatives and Pakistan’s Department of Plant Protection, took part in the ceremony and backed closer coordination on cross-border trade.
