Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited (PSX: GATM) has posted a loss after tax of Rs118.21 million for the nine months to March 31, 2026, according to Mettis Global. In the same period last year the company earned a profit of Rs2.33 billion. Earnings per share moved from a profit of Rs3.14 to a loss of Rs0.16 per share.
Net sales dropped 10.39 per cent to Rs125.31 billion, while cost of sales fell by a smaller 8.13 per cent, pulling gross profit down 22.49 per cent to Rs17.05 billion. Operating profit fell 46.04 per cent to Rs5.35 billion, although finance costs declined 25.94 per cent to Rs4.61 billion. Other income rose 19.25 per cent to Rs1.62 billion.
A levy reversal of Rs313.83 million lifted profit before income tax, but a taxation charge of Rs1.17 billion, against Rs53.47 million a year earlier, wiped out those earnings and produced the net loss. The report covers only the nine-month period.
