Bestway Cement Limited: performance and outlook
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Bestway Cement Ltd (BWCL) posted a net profit of Rs25,756.65 million in 2026, up 7.93 percent year-on-year, according to Business Recorder. Earnings per share came to Rs43.20 and the net profit margin was 23.79 percent. The gain came despite a flat top line, with net sales edging up only 0.49 percent to Rs108,282.17 million.
Cement dispatches rose 2.88 percent to 7.042 million tons, but lower selling prices under intense competition limited revenue growth. Cost of sales climbed 7.58 percent on higher production, power and raw material costs, and the company could not fully pass these on to buyers. As a result, gross profit fell 12.92 percent, leaving a gross margin of 30 percent, while operating profit declined 18.41 percent.
The report said that a rise in administrative expense of 51.94 percent, linked to payroll and donations, and a 54.44 percent drop in other income weighed on operating results. A 29.72 percent decline in finance cost, along with a 35.39 percent rise in the share of profit from associate United Bank Limited (UBL), helped offset these pressures. Looking ahead, the publication noted that construction may pick up, but inflation, higher taxes, energy costs and shipping disruptions could squeeze margins.
