Honda Atlas ends BR-V production
DAWN • • 1 min read

Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) has halted production of the Honda BR-V, Dawn reported, citing a senior company executive. According to him, the model has completed its lifecycle, and procuring parts from Japan and other countries posed no problem. He would not say whether a replacement is planned, as monthly volumes had already been low at around 25-50 units.
The carmaker has also taken the BR-V off its official website, while other models remain prominently displayed. Figures from Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) show that output and sales of the two models together fell to 120 and 191 units in July-August, compared with 1,460 and 731 units a year earlier. Assembly of the BR-V started in April 2017 with 648 units, and 527 were sold that month.
A Honda dealer said the BR-V has already disappeared from showrooms, with buyers showing little interest in bookings or walk-in purchases. Honda vendors confirmed the closure, and Dawn's reading of the PAMA data suggests both models have struggled since Chinese and Korean brands arrived, particularly with hybrid, range-extended and battery electric vehicles.
