Mettis Link News reported that the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy has cut the ex-depot price of high-speed diesel by Rs1.89 per litre. Petrol was reduced by Rs0.14 per litre, and both revised rates take effect on October 1, 2026.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority applied the federal government's pricing mechanism to revise ex-depot rates. Diesel now costs Rs400.35 per litre, down from Rs402.24, while petrol moves from Rs387.54 to Rs387.40. Mettis Link News linked the change to global developments, including shifts in Platts rates, premiums and incidental charges. A table in the report lists the previous and new price for each product.
Both products therefore carry lower ex-depot rates from the start of October. Diesel shows the larger reduction in rupee terms, and the figures were issued on September 30, 2026.
