Farmers to get access to AI in daily lives

According to The Express Tribune, the Punjab administration is moving to bring artificial intelligence into everyday farming. Parliamentary Secretary Osama Leghari made the remark on Thursday while speaking at the Agri Connections Conference and Expo of the Pakistan Agricultural Coalition. He said the provincial leadership sees data and technological change as central to its agenda.

Leghari voiced hope that within the two and a half years left in the current term, a foundation would be laid so farmers can use AI to estimate their crop output and productivity. He tied the target to the current administration's remaining term.

Leghari described farmers as traders who purchase in bulk, sell in smaller lots and bear carriage charges both ways. The government, he said, has therefore named this the Year of the Value Chain. He added that the government is encouraging its partners to take part in the effort.
