LPG shortage worsens after supply issues
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Business Recorder reported that LPG availability in Pakistan has tightened after imports from Iran were interrupted. The Pakistan LPG Association says the country receives around 7,000 metric tons daily from Iran, with more than 4,000 tons entering via Gabd-Rimdan; those shipments are currently stopped, according to traders.
A 12 kg cylinder has climbed from Rs4,500 to Rs7,000 within days, while traders warned prices could rise further if the disruption continues. Reported prices vary by location, reaching Rs7,500 in Lahore and Rs8,200 in Skardu, and residents also described sharply higher per-kilogram costs. Hundreds of trucks, including LPG tankers, remain delayed, while Iranian and Pakistani officials are discussing ways to restart trade.
