Diesel price rises by Rs1.91 per litre, petrol unchanged

Mettis Global reported on October 24, 2026 that the government raised the ex-depot rate for High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.91 per litre. The revised diesel price is Rs393.66 per litre, compared with Rs391.75 previously. Petrol, also described as Motor Spirit, remains at Rs377.71 per litre, with the new rates applying from October 24 to October 26, 2026.

The Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division made the revision under the federal petroleum pricing mechanism, with OGRA updating the ex-depot rates. The report attributes the adjustment to international market factors, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. Diesel’s increase alongside an unchanged petrol rate creates different near-term price movements across the two main fuels, making the notification relevant to fuel-market participants and consumers.
