Foreign investors transferred $2.305 billion in earnings from Pakistan during FY2025-26, about $665 million above net FDI of $1.64 billion, according to figures presented to the National Assembly. The SIFC Division said direct-investment earnings made up $2.202 billion of the payments, while portfolio investors sent out a further $103.7 million.
Manufacturing accounted for $564.3 million of the total, while financial and insurance activities contributed $537.4 million and electricity, gas and related supply accounted for $496.5 million. The government said these payments can relate to capital invested in earlier years, so they are not directly matched against one year’s net FDI; it also attributed the release of delayed remittances to better foreign-exchange liquidity. Gross FDI was $4.268 billion in FY2024-25 and $3.603 billion in the first 10 months of FY2025-26, separate measures covering different periods.
