According to Profit by Pakistan Today, the federal government has lifted petrol by Rs2.10 to Rs392.76 a litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) rose Re0.30 to Rs399.64. The revised ex-depot prices take effect from October 3 to October 5, 2026, after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recalculated them under the federal petroleum pricing mechanism. The Petroleum Division attributed the change to international market movements, among them Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
The previous revision, effective October 2, lifted petrol by Rs3.26 to Rs390.66 per litre and trimmed HSD by Rs1.01 to Rs399.34. Oil prices had dropped sharply that Friday after reports of talks in Europe on releasing more diesel and crude from stockpiles, which reduced concern about tight global energy supplies. Brent was priced at $99.25 a barrel at 1409 GMT after shedding $3.06, a fall of 3%, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude slid $3.95 to $88.92 a barrel.
European gasoil futures, a diesel price benchmark, slipped about 4.3% to $1,386.75 per metric ton. Over the week, Brent declined roughly 4.7% and WTI around 3.7%.
