Pakistan targets investment-led growth through sustained reforms
METTIS GLOBAL • • 1 min read

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb told World Bank and International Finance Corporation representatives on October 23 that Pakistan wants to build investment- and export-led growth on macroeconomic stability. He said the approach depends on continued structural changes, fiscal discipline and predictable economic policy. World Bank officials commended the country’s response to recent regional pressures and urged it to protect the gains through reform and effective implementation.
Aurangzeb cited Pakistan’s renewed access to international capital markets, including a US$3 billion Eurobond issue with five- and 10-year maturities, and said stronger credit ratings and investor confidence remain important goals. Talks also covered external-sector risks, private investment, regulatory improvements, privatisation and financing for infrastructure. Both sides said they would continue working together on reforms and consistent policies to support investment and employment.
