Mettis Global reported on October 23 that Businessmen Group Chairman Zubair Motiwala said Pakistani industries were shutting and entrepreneurs were holding back investment amid economic pressures and limited practical responses to business concerns. Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry during a visit by SIFC’s Sindh representative, he called for measures to improve industrial competitiveness, investment conditions and exports.
Motiwala said business representatives had raised issues with senior officials, but discussions and commitments had not delivered adequate corrective steps. He urged action to lower operating costs and support industrial activity, describing the challenges as structural and nationwide. SIFC representative Colonel Abdullah Khan Sherani offered closer coordination, saying the council would route concerns to relevant departments and government authorities and keep senior leadership informed.

- Zubair Motiwala said industrial closures and weak investment reflected unresolved economic challenges.
