PSO inks SPA with Oman's OQ Trading for petroleum supplies
BUSINESS RECORDER • • 1 min read

PSO has inked a supply pact, known as an SPA, with Oman's OQ Trading for petroleum products, Business Recorder reported. The state-owned marketer informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange through a notice on Friday. The contract was executed on October 8, 2026, under an inter-governmental agreement between Pakistan and Oman.
The underlying arrangement dates from May 14, 2018, when OQ Trading, then known as Oman Trading International, was nominated for Oman while PSO was named for the Government of Pakistan. After approval by PSO's Board of Management and the federal cabinet, the draft was finalised and signed. In August, the Economic Coordination Committee had already cleared the same agreement, which is intended to strengthen energy security and the petroleum supply chain.
Further oil cargoes for Pakistan have been under discussion between PSO and the Omani trader. In March, three petrol cargoes and one diesel cargo were imported from Oman, and the federal petroleum minister raised preferential energy cargoes with the Omani ambassador, receiving a positive response.
