IPO-Pakistan takes intellectual property services to Gujranwala
METTIS GLOBAL • • 1 min read

IPO-Pakistan has established an Intellectual Property Facilitation Desk at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside an awareness programme for the All Pakistan Aluminium Utensils Manufacturers Association. The office will advise businesses on protecting trademarks, patents and industrial designs, with the aim of improving producers’ ability to compete in local and overseas markets. Mettis Global reported that the initiative is part of the organisation’s broader outreach to business groups and industrial hubs.
Director General Nauman Aslam Sheikh said the time taken to register trademarks has fallen from around two years to about eight months over the past year. He also said an alternative dispute resolution process is being developed to help resolve intellectual-property disagreements more promptly. The Gujranwala sessions addressed brand protection and the commercial value of intellectual property, while local business representatives welcomed the new facility.
