Interloop plans to invest $55 million, or about Rs15 billion, in a dairy-processing facility in Faisalabad with Türkiye-based Rella Gıda, Business Recorder reported. The project will be developed through IL Foods Limited, a recently established Interloop company, according to chairman Musadaq Zulqurnain. The plant is set to make cheeses, butter and Whey Protein Concentrate, a high-value protein ingredient.
Interloop Limited CFO Hamza Gillani told Business Recorder that commercial production is expected to begin in around 1.5 years. Once the facility is operating, the partners’ combined milk-processing capacity is expected to reach 180 million litres annually. The company also intends to export some output, with the investment framed as a move towards value-added production, import substitution and support for Pakistan’s dairy sector.
