Hinopak Motors Limited: performance and outlook
BUSINESS RECORDER • • 1 min read

Hinopak Motors Limited (HINO) reported a 234.20 percent increase in net profit for 2026, reaching Rs541.253 million, while earnings per share rose to Rs21.82. Annual sales advanced 6.43 percent to Rs11,001.47 million, and gross margin improved to 18.60 percent. Higher chassis and Hilux frame volumes offset a steep fall in bus and body sales.
The recovery reversed the prior year’s net loss, but the latest quarter showed weaker momentum: first-quarter sales fell 17.25 percent year on year to Rs3,278.13 million, and net profit dropped 49.69 percent to Rs209.689 million. Lower truck and bus volumes, higher costs and supply-chain disruption weighed on quarterly performance, while the company cited industrial recovery and public-transport development as support for its outlook; vehicle levies and purchase restrictions were identified as risks.
