Adani Power’s net profit more than doubled to 69.20 billion rupees in the quarter ending September 30, compared with 29.53 billion rupees a year earlier, Business Recorder reported. Revenue from operations climbed 44.5% to 194.39 billion rupees, while electricity sales increased 11.5%.
The company attributed stronger demand partly to a weak monsoon, while its earnings also included 24.22 billion rupees from revised charges under some power agreements and a 12.11 billion rupee reversal of previous tax expenses. Total quarterly expenses rose 27.2%. Jefferies analysts said electricity demand in India has gained 10% year over year so far in fiscal 2027, and noted that state electricity boards are discussing advance arrangements for 2027 amid concerns about possible shortages as temperatures rise.
