India's IndiGo narrows quarterly loss on pricing actions
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

India’s IndiGo parent InterGlobe Aviation cut its second-quarter loss to 20.55 billion rupees from 26.14 billion rupees a year earlier, Business Recorder reported on Thursday. The quarter ended September 30 was the first under CEO Willie Walsh, who took over in August.
Revenue rose about 26% to 233.64 billion rupees, while expenses increased 19.2% to 263.57 billion rupees. Aircraft fuel made up about 37.8% of costs, and the airline used fare increases to counter higher fuel bills during a seasonally quieter travel period. IndiGo raised fuel charges on domestic and international routes in October, after a similar move in April, and has said it is considering fuel hedging without announcing a formal programme.
