PSX: positive momentum continues, KSE-100 accumulates over 1,400 points
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

The KSE-100 ended Thursday at 167,193.43, up 1,456.68 points or 0.88%, as buying strengthened at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Business Recorder attributed the advance to corporate earnings and continued institutional participation. The benchmark climbed towards 167,500 in the morning, surrendered part of that rise around midday, then recovered in afternoon trading.
The move followed Wednesday’s 1,269.55-point increase, which took the index to 165,736.76. Overseas markets were mixed: Asian shares weakened as investors weighed technology earnings, while the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, despite two committee members favouring an increase. Business Recorder also reported a 10% after-hours fall in Alphabet shares, a 3% rise for Microsoft, and a 2.6% decline in South Korea’s KOSPI.
