Unified crypto industry body in Pakistan proposed

Asia Web3 Alliance Japan President Hinza Asif has proposed a unified representative body for Pakistan’s digital-asset industry, saying it could help protect investors and coordinate with overseas cryptocurrency exchanges. Her call follows a major cybersecurity breach involving Binance, though she said the consequences for Pakistani investors have not been independently established.

Asif said the market lacked verified investor information and an organised channel for complaints during incidents involving international exchanges. She cited estimates of about 40 million crypto-linked accounts and digital-asset exposure of $10 billion to $20bn, while noting these figures do not confirm the number of individual investors. She also proposed a national digital-finance platform and said an industry association could complement the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority by connecting businesses, professionals and investors with policymakers.
