Adrian Hamilton-Manns appointed new PIA chief executive officer

Pakistan International Airlines has named Adrian Hamilton-Manns as chief executive, the airline’s board announced on Monday, according to Dawn. PIA said Hamilton-Manns has more than 30 years of aviation experience and has led three airlines as CEO. He takes over from Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, whom the airline credited with guiding reforms and preparations for privatisation during his four-and-a-half-year tenure.
The change comes after an Arif Habib-led consortium won 75 per cent of PIA for Rs135 billion in an auction last December and assumed control in June. The consortium has said it plans operational restructuring, fleet expansion and better customer service. PIA’s first Boeing 787-9, taken on lease last month, arrived in Islamabad from London on Sunday.
