The Central Directorate of National Savings has increased profit rates on several of its main savings products, according to Mettis Global. Smaller increases went to the Behbood Savings Certificate and the Pensioners Benefit Account, which both gained 12bps and now yield 12.72%, compared with 12.60% earlier. Defence Savings Certificates, a longer-term conventional product, rose 19bps to 11.80% from 11.61%. Islamic products moved in the same direction, with the 3-year Sarwa Islamic Term Account up 41bps to 11.57% and the 5-year tenor up 54bps to 11.70%.
Returns had drifted lower in recent periods, so this round of revisions marks a turn upward for the listed products. The increases ranged from 12bps to 74bps across the instruments named in the update, as Mettis Global reported on October 01, 2026.
