Renault to invest over €10 billion in France in EVs, affordable cars, CEO says
Business Recorder • • 1 min read

Renault Group intends to spend over €10 billion ($11 billion) across France during the coming five years, targeting electric models and cheaper vehicles, according to Business Recorder. Chief Executive François Provost made the comments in an interview with France Inter radio on Saturday. He said the company had put €13 billion into France over the past five years to overhaul its industrial base for electric production.
Provost tied the next phase of spending to whether social and political conditions allow it. Electric cars made up a record 42% of France's new car registrations in September, with demand boosted by higher fuel prices after the Iran war began.
Provost also said Renault now builds more vehicles in France than before, having produced 500,000 cars there in 2025. He expects output in the country to rise by at least 25% in 2026 as electric vehicle production expands.
