Mettis Global reported that the National Bank of Pakistan's treasury arm released its currency rate sheet on Tuesday, October 20. The US dollar was quoted at Rs277.30 for selling and Rs276.80 for buying, while the euro stood at Rs311.41 to sell and Rs310.85 to buy. According to the report, the bank presents these figures as a reference point for the session, reflecting prevailing opening levels.
Other quotes included the British pound at Rs369.69 selling and Rs369.02 buying, and the Japanese yen at Rs1.7521 selling and Rs1.7490 buying. A separate table gave the conversion figures for frozen foreign currency deposits, with the dollar at Rs276.8545, the pound at Rs368.7702, the euro at Rs310.3539 and the yen at Rs1.7508. Those figures apply to a settlement date of Thursday, 22 October 2026.
The figures cannot be used for cumulative transactions exceeding 5,000 US dollars or the equivalent in other currencies, and several currencies in the table are closed to the bank's own customers. For investors, the update is a routine currency reference rather than a company-specific event, though it shows the rupee levels the bank quotes for major foreign currencies.
