BUSINESS RECORDER • • 1 min read

HUBCO is aiming to start operations at its BYD vehicle plant by December 2026, Business Recorder reported, citing comments at the company’s annual meeting. Management expects monthly sales to reach 1,000 to 1,500 vehicles as output builds, and plans to add models in stages rather than launch them all at once.
The facility is expected to begin operating in four to five weeks, according to an analyst at Arif Habib Limited, while HUBCO rejected claims that its schedule had slipped. Initial manufacturing will depend on imported parts, with local sourcing intended to rise over time toward 80 per cent. BYD has described the Pakistan facility as having annual capacity of 25,000 vehicles, with scope to reach 50,000, and said it could create more than 1,100 jobs.
